The most successful franchise in IPL history with four title wins to their name is Mumbai Indians (MI) team based in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra,  The team with the biggest fan base have also won the now-defunct Champions League twice. MI is Owned by India’s biggest conglomerate, Reliance Industries, the franchise is the most expensive team in the league. 

In the initial year the team faced struggles when they had the likes of Sachin Tendulkar in the squad. They saw many ups and downs during the year 2008-2009, however, once they purchased Indian batsman Rohit Sharma and the captaincy was handed over to him, the side saw changes emerge as they went on to become a strong team.


Mumbai Indians, in the year 2017 turned into the primary establishment to cross the $100 million imprint in brand an incentive among the IPL establishments. They won their second IPL title on 24 May 2015 by defeating the Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs in the final and became the third team to win more than one IPL title.

On 21 May 2017, they won their third IPL title by defeating the Rising Pune Supergiant by 1 run in a thrilling final, thus becoming the first team to win three IPL titles. While playing the tournament, they won their 100th T20, becoming the first team to do so

In 2019, they repeated the same feat as they won a record breaking fourth IPL title, by beating CSK by just 1 run on 12 May 2019 in IPL Final.

Being headed by Rohit sharma as Captain, Mahela Jayawardene was appointed as head coach of Mumbai Indians before the 2017 season. Run scorer of the team goes to Sharma and leading wicket taker of the team and the IPL as well goes to LasithMalinga 

Four players are declared as icon players of the Indian Premier League for their respective city franchises which made the players unavailable to play for any team other than their city team. Mumbai’s icon player goes to Sachin Tendulkar 

Mumbai Indians bought Trinidadian all-rounder Kieron Pollard for $750,000 following a secret tiebreaker  at the 2010 players auction. They signed up ten uncapped Indian players out whom seven were former ICL players after the auction.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings played in the final of Vivo IPL 2019 where Mumbai defeated Chennai by 1 run to become champions for the record 4th time in the year 2019. The final of 2019 had a thriller end which saw Chennai Super Kings needing 2 runs off the last delivery where Mumbai Indians bowler LasithMalinga took wicket on last delivery and won the match for Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 1 run to lift the IPL trophy for the record fourth time.  Mumbai Indians became the only team to have four IPL trophies, and the most successful team ever.

The Title of  ‘Harrier Super Striker of the Match’ title for 2 and 3 times grabbed  respectively by Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard . Hardik Pandya scored 91 runs off just 34 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders and made the fastest 50 off just 17 balls in that match.

The best bowling figures 6/12 in IPL history in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad which was also his IPL debut is recorded by Alzzari Joseph

They broke the record to become the only franchise to win the most IPL titles after they defeated arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a run in the year 2019. As for the 2020 edition, in IPL auction, MI added six new names – Chris Lynn (2 crores), Nathan Coulter-Nile (8 crores), Saurabh Tiwary (50 lakh), Mohsin Khan (20 lakh), DigvijayDeshmukh (20 lakh), Balwant Rai Singh (20 lakh), to their squad.

One of the best team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are Mumbai Indians (MI), who is going to start this IPL 2020 as the defending champions. Chris Lynn

The most devastating T20 batsmen in International cricket, the man from Australia who has represented Kolkata Knight Riders previously for over six years until he was released ahead of the IPL 2020 auction.

It is awaited that Chris Lynn would either open with Quinton De Kock or Rohit Shrama at the top and is expected to set forth devastating start to the Mumbai Indians.

Since he has conquered more than 150 in the first 6 overs we can expect him to hit big. According to former Cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar Lynn will not get a single game. Certainly he is one of the five Mumbai Indians to watch for.

Quinton de Kock 

Quinton de Kock, a talent from South Africa who manages to capture your imagination. He was peddled to Mumbai Indians by Royal Challengers Bangalore in a major player trade off deal before the IPL auction last year.

We can say De Kock was one of the most consistent Mumbai Indians batsmen in IPL 2019 to finish in third place in the race for the Orange Cap.He scored 529 runs at an average of 35.26.

Jasprit Bumrah

The Indian T20 League has been the platform to make many young players and Jasprit Bumrah is one of them. Promoting Mumbai, with an unusual bowling action he became the centre point and caught everyone’s eye. He is blessed to bowl yorkers and get the steep bounce off the pitch.After making his international debut , the Gujarat pacer has arguably become India’s best bowler in limited-overs cricket.

Hardik Pandya

An Indian international cricketer, HardikPandya who plays for Baroda in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).. He is an another crucial wheel of Mumbai Indians to make them win the title this season. He has been amazing over the years for the IPL franchise.

He scored 402 runs at an amazing average of 44.66 and an unbelievable strike-rate of 191.42. Pandya also picked up 14 wickets at an average of 27.85.Pandya delivered his best IPL performance in the competition last season.

Rohit Sharma 

The fascinating captain of Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma, has impressively led the franchise from the front. Since 2013 ,MI have won the tournament four times under his leadership.His decisions to back key players and his knack of making the right changes in matches has served Mumbai Indians well over the years.

This IPL 2020 his fans are expecting something special from ‘Hitman’ and of course  there is no doubt about the explosive batsman’s mastery with the bat however.

Kieron pollard

After winning the 2020 Caribbean Premier League in West Indies the big man Kieron Pollard is coming off and will be looking to give the fullest in the forthcoming edition of Indian Premier League.Being a Proven match winner and a finisher for Mumbai Indians side since from few years he is aiming to finish off more matches in the upcoming season.

He scored a bulk of runs for his side and even picked up wickets at crucial stages which could prove beneficial for the Mumbai Indians side going ahead in this IPL season.

Surya kumar Yadav

An attacking right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler, SuryakumarYadavhas been around in the domestic circuit and he’s been playing the IPL since 2012.Vigilance by his talent, he endured an IPL contract from Mumbai Indians for 2012 season.Though he was ignored throughout the season due to the presence of veteran players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard.

He broke the headlines in IPL 2015 when he hit breathtaking and match-winning – 20-ball 46 with five sixes – against Mumbai Indians that overshadowed Rohit Sharma’s classy 98 on Wednesday at the Eden Gardens surprised many               

Lasith Malinga

LasithMalinga, an unconventional bowling action and precise usage of yorkers are the two traits of this player. The 35-year-old played last World Cup of his career in 2019. He is one of the most successful bowlers in ODI history due to his precise line and length. He supervised the Sri Lankan 2014 T20 World Cup winning side. He is a right-arm fast bowler that is commonly used as a specialist death bowler, and is well known for his distinctive round-arm action, sometimes referred to as a sling action, which leads to his nicknames, ‘SlingaMalinga’.

In the 2020 Indian Premier League they are one of the eight teams to compete, which will be their eighth outing in all the IPL tournaments. The team is currently being captained by David Warner and coached by Trevor Bayliss with Brad Haddin as assistant coach, Muttiah Muralitharan as bowling coach and VVS Laxman as mentor.

In the last two seasons, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has been a team to beat. In the previous season The Orange Army franchise did exceedingly well as they made it to the playoffs. David Warner, who was the leading run-scorer of the tournament last year The ‘Orange Army’ must be buoyed with the form of their batting mainstay. .he team also boasts of several match-winners.

On 18 February 2020. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the fixture details. With the opening match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the two finalist of the previous season at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the league stage was scheduled to start on 29 March 2020.The BCCI postponed the tournament until 15 April, in view of the ongoing coronavirus pandemicOn 13 March 2020. Narendra Modi On 14 April 2020 said that the lockdown in India would last until at least 3 May 2020, with the tournament postponed further. The BCCI suspended the tournament indefinitely due to the pandemic the following day.

The Indian government relaxed nation-wide restrictions on sports events On 17 May 2020,allowing events to take place behind closed doors On 24 May. The decision on whether or not to allow the tournament to be conducted in 2020 will be made by the Indian government based on “the situation of the pandemic” In June 2020 as stated by Indian sports minister KirenRijiju . It was announced On 2 August 2020 that the tournament would be played between 19 September and 10 November 2020 in the United Arab Emirates. the Indian government On 10 August 2020 gave its permission for the tournament to take place in the UAE. The schedule for the league stage of this season were released on 6 September with the SunRisers Hyderabad playing their first match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on 21 September in a home game at Dubai.

David Warner

An Australian international cricketer and a former captain of the Australian national team David Warner. He is A left-handed opening batsman. Warner has been SRH’s most valuable player ever since 2014 and has won the Orange Cap three times. Since 2014, he has scored the most number of runs in the IPLand is fourth among the all-time run-scorers in the list with 4706 runs at an impressive average of 43.17 and a stunning strike-rate of 142.He has 44 half centuries and 4 centuries in 126 games that he has played in the IPL.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

An Indian international cricketer ,Bhuvneshwar Kumar Singh who plays all formats of the game. He plays for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-arm fast medium bowler who swings the ball both ways efficiently.In December 2012 he made his international debut,a T20I match against Pakistan during which he took a three-wicket haul. In February 2018after his five-wicket haul against South Africa in the first T20I he became the first Indian bowler to take a five-wicket haul in all formats of the game.

Kane Williamson

A New Zealand international cricketer , a right-handed batsman and an occasional off spin bowlerKane Williamsonmade his first-class cricket debut in December 2007.During 2019 Cricket World Cup he captained New Zealand national team and led the team to the finals and he was  awarded the Player of the Tournament award. During February 2015 season of the IPL he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for US$96,500.He was part of the team during 2016, 2017 and 2018 season. He was announced captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad replacing David Warner On 29 March 2018. Under Williamson’s captaincy Sunrisers Hyderabad finished runners-up after Chennai Super Kings defeated them in the final by 8 wickets, he also won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs (735) in the 2018 IPL season. Jonny Bairstow

An English cricketer, a right-hand batsmanJonny Bairstow,one of the finest white-ball opening batsmen in the current lot. He will continue to open the batting for SRH and it would be exciting for his fans to watch him at the UAE pitches.

He got to play only 10 games last season for SRH due to national commitments during which he scored 445 runs at a brilliant average of 55.62 including a fluent century (114).Bairstow and Warner went on to become one of the most dangerous partnerships of the IPL 2019 and literally they could light up the IPL and SRH will be in a great position to win their second IPL title.

Rashid Khan

An Afghan cricketer, 21-year-old star Rashid khan who’s bowling is always something to watch out forirrespective of the opposition and pitch conditions.He was also amongst the two first ever Afghan players to be selected for the IPL .He made his debut during the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) where he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 4 crores and since then he has become the crucial part of the team. Rashid has picked up 55 wickets in his IPL career from 46 games at an average of 21.69 and a strike rate of 19.85. He is also handy with the bat, having a strike-rate of 165.07.

Mohammad Nabi

An Afghan cricketer, Mohammad Nabian all-rounder, a right-handed batsman and off break bowler. He became the first Afghan player to be sold in the 2017 IPL auction bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad at his base price of 30 lakh.Nabi only played three matches in the 2017 tournament. In the 2018 IPL auction he was again bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for 1 crore.

Sandeep Sharma 

 An Indian cricketer, a right-arm medium pace bowler Sandeep Sharma has represented India at two Under-19 World Cups – 2010 and 2012.He was also part of Under-19 team that won Under-19 World Cup in 2012. He made his debut in 2013,where he was signed up by Kings XI Punjab and took three wickets for 21 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 11 May 2013. Sharma claimed 3/22 from his four overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore and in the process became the first bowler to get the renowned trio of Chris Gayle, ViratKohli and AB de Villiers out in the same game during the 2017 edition of IPL. He was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 IPL auction.

Vijay Shankar 

An Indian cricketer Vijay Shankar, who is an all-rounder , bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace. He was selected for the India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019. He played one match for the Chennai Super Kings in 2014 edition of IPL and four for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017. On 13 May 2017 he had his highest batting score whichwas 63 not out against Gujarat Lions. He was bought by the Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL auction.During the 2019 IPL season he was traded back to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was named as one of eight players to watch by the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the 2019 Indian Premier League tournament in March 2019.
